This Article is from Jay Leno...Nice Read!

"The other day I was reading Newsweek magazine and came across some poll
data I found rather hard to believe. It must be true given the source,
right? The Newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of Americans are unhappy
with the direction the country is headed and 69 percent of the country is
unhappy with the performance of the president. In essence 2/3s of the
citizenry just ain't happy and want a change.

So being the knuckle dragger I am, I started thinking, ''What we are so
unhappy about?''

Is it that we have electricity and running water 24 hours a day, 7 days a
week? Is our unhappiness the result of having air
conditioning in the summer and heating in the winter? Could it be that
95.4 percent of these unhappy folks have a job?
Maybe it is the ability to walk into a grocery store at any time and see
more food in moments than Darfur has seen in the last year?

Maybe it is the ability to drive from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic
Ocean without having to present identification papers as we move through
each state? Or possibly the hundreds of clean and safe motels we would
find along the way that can provide temporary shelter?

I guess having thousands of restaurants with varying cuisine from around
the world is just not good enough. Or could it be that when we wreck our
car, emergency workers show up and provide services to help all and even
send a helicopter to take you to the hospital.

Perhaps you are one of the 70 percent of Americans who own a home. You may
be upset with knowing that in the unfortunate case of a fire, a group of
trained firefighters will appear in moments and use top notch equipment to
extinguish the flames thus saving you, your family and your belongings.

Or if, while at home watching one of your many flat screen TVs, a burglar
or prowler intrudes , an officer equipped with a gun and a bullet-proof
vest wil
l come to defend you and your family against attack or loss. This
all in the backdrop of a neighborhood free of bombs or militias raping and
pillaging the residents. Neighborhoods where 90 percent of teenagers own
cell phones and computers.

How about the complete religious, social and political freedoms we enjoy
that are the envy of everyone in the world? Maybe that is what has 67
percent of you folks unhappy.

Fact is, we are the largest group of ungrateful, spoiled brats the world
has ever seen. No wonder the world loves the U.S. , yet has a great
disdain for its citizens. They see us for what we are. The most blessed
people in the world who do nothing but complain about what we don't have ,
and what we hate about the country instead of thanking the good Lord we
live here.

I know, I know. What about the president who took us into war and has no
plan to get us out? The president who has a measly 31 percent approval
rating? Is this the same president who guided the nati
on in the dark days
after 9/11? The president that cut taxes to bring an economy out of
recession? Could this be the same guy who has been called every name in
the book for succeeding in keeping all the spoiled ungrateful brats safe
from terrorist attacks?

The commander in chief of an all-volunteer army that is out there
defending you and me? Did you hear how bad the resident is on the news or
talk show? Did this news affect you so much, make you so unhappy you
couldn't take a look around for yourself and see all the good things and
be glad?

Think about it......are you upset at the President because he actually
caused you personal pain OR is it because the "Media"
told you he was failing to kiss your sorry ungrateful behind every day.
Make no mistake about it. The troops in Iraq and Afghanistan have
volunteered to serve, and in many cases may have died for your freedom.
There is currently no draft in this country. They didn't have to go. They
are able to refuse to go and
end up with either a ''general'' discharge,
an ''other than honorable'' discharge or, worst case scenario, a
''dishonorable'' discharge after a few days in the brig. So why then the
flat-out discontentment in the minds of 69 percent of Americans? Say what
you want but I blame it on the media. If it
bleeds it leads and they specialize in bad news. Everybody will watch a
car crash with blood and guts. How many will watch kids selling lemonade
at the corner? The media knows this and media outlets are for-profit
corporations. They offer what sells , and when criticized, try to defend
their actions by "justifying" them in one way or another. Just ask why
they tried to allow a murderer like O.J. Simpson to write a book about how
he didn't kill his wife, but if he did he would have done it t his wa
y......Insane!

Stop buying the negativism you are fed everyday by the media. Shut off the
TV, burn Newsweek, and use the New York Times for the bottom of your bird
cage. Then start be
ing grateful for all we have as a country. There is
exponentially more good than bad.

We are among the most blessed people on Earth and should thank God several
times a day, or at least be thankful and appreciative."

"With hurricanes, tornados, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding,
severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one
end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks,
"Are we sure this is a good time to take God out of
the Pledge of Allegiance?"

Vietnam catalogs top ten FDI projects in 2006

Foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows in Vietnam have reached a record high US$10.2 billion, far exceeding the 2006 target of $6.5 billion. The following is a list of the top ten projects:

1. The Posco Co. Ltd from the Republic of Korea, also the world's third largest steel maker, has planned to invest $1.126 billion in hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel plants in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

Posco will build a $340 million cold-rolled steel plant by 2009 with an annual output capacity of 700,000 tons.

By late 2012 it plans to finish a hot-rolled steel plant and expand cold-rolled facilities with a target of producing 4.5 million tons of products annually.

2. US-based Intel Corporation was granted an investment license in Vietnam with a total capital of $1 billion to build a plant for assembling microprocessors in the Ho Chi Minh City Hi-tech Park.

The project was also the largest-ever investment from the US in Vietnam.

3. Thailand-based Tycoons Worldwide Steel Group planned to develop a US$556 million steel mill from 2006-2009 in Dung Quat Industrial Zone, the central province of Quang Ngai.

The mill, coming as a part of the $1 billion steel factory project, is designed to produce two million tons of ingot annually in the 2006-2009 stage.

Its capacity would be raised to five million tons by 2010.

4. A Republic of Korea consortium would invest $314 million in an urban development project in Hanoi with housing, hotels, commercial centers and parks to be constructed in the Tay Ho Tay area.

The consortium, consisting of five companies, including Daewoo Engineering, Kolon Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd. and Keangnam Enterprises Ltd. will launch the project next year, scheduled to finish by 2014 (pang elementary kung ngayon pa lang ginagawa si Fil-Viet)

5. US-based Winvest Investment group planned $300 million to build a complex of resorts, five-star hotels and entertainment centers in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

6. Japanese Meiko Electronics Ltd Co. was approved a $300 million project to build a printed circuit board factory in the northern province of Ha Tay, about 50km from Hanoi.

7. The UK-based P&O Ports and Tan Thuan Industrial Promotion Co. (IPC) would invest $249 million to develop a port in the Hiep Phuoc Industrial Park, some 10 km from Ho Chi Minh City center.

The Saigon Premier Container Terminal, including a 950 meter wharf and a 40 ha container yard, is expected to handle over 1.5 million TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) of cargo per year when completed in 2008.

8. RoK-based Posco construction company invested $221.9 million in an urban township project in Ha Tay northern province.

The investment was part of a joint venture of Posco and Vinaconex (the Vietnam Construction and Export-Import Company) to develop the North An Khanh new urban area

The new township is scheduled to come on line in 2020 (pang High School ito kung si Fil Viet ay nagawa na..he..he..he), covering a 264 ha-site of residential structures, commercial and offices buildings, and public facilities among other infrastructure works.

9. Booyung Ltd Co. from the Republic of Korea invested $171 million in a construction project of six high-quality 30-storey apartment buildings, among other extra works in Ha Dong town of Ha Tay northern province.

Post ni Justine about Vietnam Future Projects

NOI BAI EXPANSION AND MASTERPLAN
In 2006 the Vietnamese Government approved a $236m project to build a new terminal (T2) for Noi Bai Airport. The Civil Aviation Administration of Viet Nam (CAAV) will administer the project and maintain the correct international standards in conjunction with the ICAO (International Civil Aviation authority).
The project is now in the consultation phase with the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO), which is discussing the Noi Bai Airport master plan and T2 passenger terminal feasibility study with CAAV and the Northern Airports Authority. Consensus so far is that the airport should be developed in several phases to cope with changing technology and market needs.
Currently, the airport can handle six million passengers annually. In the medium-phase the capacity should be expanded to 12 million passengers a year (2010), to be further increased to 20 million by 2020.
Noi Bai Airport has a capacity to handle a maximum of 50 million passengers a year and has area for an additional parallel runway in the south if required.
According to the JETRO study team, immediate development at the airport should focus on the construction of T2, which is to be an international four-storey terminal with a total floor area of 90,000m².
NOI BAI TERMINAL TWO
T2 has already been designed to provide high-quality services, smooth passenger flow, future scope for expansion, and enhanced security, guaranteeing commercial success. A senior architect of the JETRO study team said three designs for the terminal were under consideration, and would be finalised during the implementation stage.
T2 is expected to be completed in time for the 1,000th anniversary of Ha Noi City in October 2010. At this time the existing T1 terminal will be modified to become a domestic passenger terminal. The JETRO study team has also provided the modification plan for T1. The project is estimated to cost about ¥31bn ($297m) and be funded by Japanese Government ODA (Official Development Assistance). The project will also include aircraft parking zones, elevated roads and a multi-storey car park.
Actions underway include approval of the 'Noi Bai Airport master plan and T2 feasibility study', environmental impact assessment (EIA) and environmental clearance, land acquisition, applying for assistance from the Japanese Government, and conducting a feasibility study for the Airport Rail Link (ARL).
An ARL is necessary as the Thang Long Expressway would not be able to handle the increased traffic after 2010.

DANANG EXPANSION PROJECT
Vietnam is one of the world's fastest-growing economies, with increasing tourist arrivals attracting significant foreign investment.
With Danang International Airport crucial to the development of the central region of Vietnam, the government has unveiled plans to construct a new international terminal capable of handling six million passengers per year.
The feasibility study for the project, which was partially sponsored by the US Trade & Development Agency, was completed by PriceWaterhouseCoopers in 2006. The first phase of the project is estimated to cost US$75m and will initially increase passenger capacity to four million per year.
The project's completion date is set for 2010-2011 and will require a total investment of US$160m.
EXPANSION FUNDING
The Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV) and the Middle Airport Authority (MAA), which is responsible for managing the airport, obtained government funding approval for the terminal project in 2006.
About US$48m of the total investment for the first phase will be funded from the government budget and will be mainly spent on construction works.
The remaining US$27m is expected to come from local or foreign commercial banks and will be used to acquire necessary equipment for the new terminal.
The CAAV and MAA have also considered building a new runway at an estimated cost of US$32m, but financing for this project has not yet been established.
CONTRACTORS
In May 2006, the MAA hired an international consortium to provide design and consultancy for building the new terminal. MAA signed a US$2.57m deal with a joint venture between Louis Berger Group Inc of the US, Airport Consultants BV of the Netherlands and Vietnam-based National Construction Consultants Co.
The consortium design was completed by November 2006 and was submitted for approval. The expansion of the airport with the new terminal is due to begin construction in 2008.
